Last summer it was Belize; this summer, Ghana. Soror Kimberly Harper participated in a three-week study abroad trip to Ghana as a part of her studies in East Carolina's doctoral program in technical and professional discourse. While in Ghana, Soror Kimberly visited Accra, Cape Coast, Elmina, and environs. In addition to seeing many of the historic monuments such as the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial, the WEB Dubois Center, and the Castle (the place that was a gateway to people being sold and sent off as slaves), Soror Kimberly also visited mosques in the country. Upon returning, Soror Kimberly said, "It was a wonderful experience. I had a great time, and I look forward to going back very soon. I still can't believe that I went.
