Beta Chapter President Sumaiyah Yates and her husband, "Gamma Honey" Khalid are the muscle behind a new computer classroom for a local community organization. (Note: A Gamma Honey is the husband of a soror.)
Through the joint efforts of Soror Sumaiyah and Khalid, residents of Muslimat Al-Nisaa Home Center, a homeless shelter for Muslim women in Baltimore, now can use four new PC's to help improve their lives. The new computers will be used as a multi-purpose computer classroom.
In reflecting on their work, Soror Sumaiyah said, "The classroom turned out really nicely al-hamdulilah. Khalid and I really enjoyed setting things up for the shelter. Now the sisters have resources to get online and (search for jobs), etc. masha'Allah. I am anxious to start the computer training classes as well (for them)."
