SUMMER 2010 eNEWSLETTERFOUR NEW MEMBERS INDUCTED INTO BETA CHAPTER
Beta Chapter, serving the Washington, DC, metro area, inducted four new members into their chapter on June 19, 2009 in Baltimore, Maryland. This is the third intake since the chapter was established on July 22, 2006, in Alexandria, Virginia, by the co-founders. The addition of these four new sorors brings the total number of inducted members to 16 in Beta Chapter, making it the largest chapter of Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority, Inc.
Beta Chapter President, Mischelle Moody, conducted the ceremony with assistance from Chapter Secretary, Kesha Abdul-Mateen. Also in attendance were GGChi President and Executive Director, Dr. Althia F. Ali; Beta Chapter Past President, Sumaiyah Yates; and Beta Chapter member, Kesha Abdul Mateen.
Other chapters of Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority, Inc. are the National Grand Chapter; Alpha Chapter, serving the Atlanta metro area; and Epsilon Chapter, which serves the Philadelphia metro area. The National Grand Chapter has four inducted members who developed the five subsequent chapters. Alpha Chapter has six inducted members and is currently undergoing an intake process slated to begin in the fall. Epsilon Chapter has nine inducted members, with the four newest members inducted on December 26, 2009. The sorority also two inactive chapters, Gamma Chapter, established to serve the Greensboro Triad, with four inducted members, and Delta Chapter, established when seven members were inducted to serve the Chicago metro area.
